Graffiti

tuff-all-over-2001
I learnt letter arts in the Belfast graffiti scene in the 1990’s under the apprenticeship of Glen Molloy, now famous street artist, used to be a proper graffiti writer, still a culture producing machine. https://www.facebook.com/glenmolloycreative/
There’s a lot in common between graffiti and insular art, not just in terms of style but in social organisation. An urban graffiti crew is organised in a structure similar to a medieval guild or scriptorium. Young teenagers start as apprentices and have to make a lot of effort on the streets before being allowed on the production walls.
