For original artwork, please enquire directly. I do sometimes take on commissions but I’m only making really complex things in a very specific way so it really needs to be a good fit for what I do or its not worth it for either of us. Also, they take a VERY long time, usually in excess of 350 hours so as a result are expensive.
Ligno Vitae
This piece mixes traditional pigments and parchment with graffiti styles, its featured in the book on the Book of Kells by Dr. Victoria Whitworth which can be seen here https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/book-of-kells-9781788541794/ As it has become very popular and is small anyway I’ve finally got round to getting prints of it made. 201x261mm which includes a 25mm white border all around so they don’t need mounted and can go straight into a frame. Its an edition of 500, each print is signed, numbered and comes with a certificate. They are £35 each plus P&P
Some of my most complex work is also now available as limited edition Giclee prints, these are on sale at the Tarbat Discovery Centre shop and online here. The techniques used to make the original artwork can be seen on this website and in a new series of videos at http://www.tarbat-discovery.co.uk/stories-on-skins

The artwork depicts the moment Finn gains knowledge of the two worlds by sucking his thumb after burning it while cooking Salmon of Knowledge. Some of the details include Finn as a baby being hidden by his mother’s midwife, Black Arca murdering his father and his realisation that the dog is his fathers hound Bran. The style is based on the Chi Rho page from the Book of Kells; this artwork is made at the same scale using the same techniques and materials. This print is an accurate 1:1 copy of the artwork.
